Our Ministries

We Were Made for Relationship!

Have you ever longed to belong to a community of people with big hearts and genuine care for one another? Your family is always welcome at Portland Church of the Nazarene. We offer ministries for every age group, creating opportunities for everyone to find a meaningful place to connect. While joining a ministry group is completely optional, we encourage you to explore the possibilities. These groups provide wonderful opportunities to love God and others more deeply, to grow in your relationships with God and with one another, and to serve God by serving others.

<span class="h2"><span class="h2">Nursery Ministry</span></span>

Nursery Ministry

Our Nursery Ministry provides a safe, loving environment where our youngest children can be cared for while parents participate in the life of the church. Nursery is available during Sunday morning Growth Groups, our Worship Gathering, Wednesday evening Midweek Gatherings, and during many special events throughout the year.

Under the leadership of Nursery Director Nancy Harmon and a team of caring volunteers, we strive to ensure that every child is well cared for and every parent can participate in worship and discipleship with peace of mind.

Children's Ministry

Our children meet with Pastor Lynn on Sunday mornings for Growth Groups at 9:30am and Children’s Church at 10:30am, and they also gather on Wednesday evenings at 6:00pm for our Midweek Gathering. During these times, kids enjoy engaging lessons, activities, and conversations that help them learn about Jesus and grow in their faith. Nursery is also available for children up to age four.

Stay tuned for special children’s events that take place throughout the year as well, such as summer camps, Vacation Bible School, Nerf & Nachos, movie nights, and other fun opportunities designed to help kids build friendships and experience the joy of following Jesus!

Youth Ministry

Our teens meet with Joy Guffey on Sunday mornings for Growth Groups at 9:30am and again on Wednesday evenings for Youth Group during our Midweek Gathering at 6:00pm. These gatherings provide a welcoming environment where students can build friendships, explore their faith, and grow as followers of Jesus through discussion, teaching, and shared experiences.

Stay tuned for special local and district youth events that take place throughout the year as well, including summer camps, Celebrate Life, lock-ins, and other opportunities for fun, connection, and spiritual growth!

Adult Ministry

Our adults gather on Sunday mornings for Growth Groups at 9:30am and for our Worship Gathering at 10:30am, and they also meet on Wednesday evenings at 6:00pm for our Midweek Gathering. These times provide opportunities for meaningful conversation, biblical teaching, prayer, and fellowship as we grow together in our faith.
